President of the Republic congratulated newly elected Rector of the University of Tartu

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves congratulated Alar Karis yesterday on being elected the Rector of the University of Tartu.

“I am convinced that under your leadership the University of Tartu will blossom and develop as an educator of the next generation of Estonian intellectuals, as well as a fruitful research environment. I wish you success in maintaining and continuing the honorable traditions of the University of Tartu,” said the President in his greetings.
