27.04.2007

Yesterday in Kadriorg, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves received credentials from Joyce Mwaka Chemba Musenge, the Zambian Ambassador.

At the meeting with the Zambian Ambassador, the President noted that the relations between the two countries are good and that Estonia would like to activate relations further in the future, this primarily in the field of tourism. “In its region, Zambia is one of the most stable countries in Africa,” said President Ilves.

The Zambian Ambassador acknowledged Estonia’s noteworthy economic success and expressed the hope that Zambia might learn something from Estonia in this field. The President highlighted Estonia’s Internetization and e-government as good examples, “Small and not very rich countries can gain much through Internetization—it can clear the path to many opportunities.”

The Zambian Ambassador resides in Stockholm.
