President of the Republic met with the new Government

05.04.2007

Today in Kadriorg, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves received the Government of the Republic led by Andrus Ansip, who had given their oath of office in the Riigikogu.

The Estonian Head of State wished the members of the new government cabinet success and team spirit. “Cooperate closely with the civil society, the intelligentsia, and the opposition. Make Estonia larger so that it would be a good place for everyone to live in,” President Ilves urged the ministers.

“I hope the Government will endure solidly for the next four years, but this is only possible if you work as an integrated team,” added the Estonian Head of State.

President Ilves hosted a luncheon for the members of the new Government after the meeting.
