The President’s Cultural Foundation announces the competition for the Young Cultural Figure Award

The Young Cultural Figure Award bestowed by the President of the Republic’s Cultural Foundation is intended for Estonian cultural figures under 35 years of age, whose work and cultural activities have significantly contributed to the promotion of Estonia and its culture in the world. The Young Cultural Figure Award is financed by Toomas Luman, a Member of the Cultural Foundation Board.

The Young Cultural Figure Award will be bestowed for the sixth time. In past years, the recipients have included composer Tõnu Kõrvits, folk musician Krista Sildoja, literary critic Jan Kaus, conductor Anu Tali, director Jaanus Rohumaa, and composer Helena Tulve.

The candidates themselves, their advisors, teachers, employers, as well as Members of the Cultural Foundation Board, can submit applications. In order to apply, a written application must be submitted along with personal data and a short biography (name, address, education, and professional activities), a description of creative activities and recommendations from at least two recognized cultural figures or one creative association and one recognized cultural figure. Please send all the documents related to the award application to the Cultural Foundation of the President of the Republic (A. Weizenbergi 39, 15050 Tallinn) by 30 April 2007.
