President of the Republic received the credentials of the Austrian Ambassador

In Kadriorg today, President Toomas Hendrik Ilves received Dr. Angelika Saupe-Berchthold, Ambassador of Austria, who presented her credentials.

According to the President of the Republic, the relations between Estonia and Austria are very good in the fields of politics, economy, as well as cultural dialogue. “I am very glad to be hosting my Austrian colleague, Dr. Heinz Fischer, in Tallinn in two months on April 12,” said President Ilves.

The Estonian Head of State declared that he highly values the events introducing Austrian culture organized by the Austrian Embassy in Tallinn. “Looking toward the future, we see even more “free space”, or more formally, room for development for the mutual development of cultural and educational ties as well as economic contacts,” said President Ilves.

According to the Austrian Ambassador, she considers the primary objective of her impending work to be the maintenance and further development of good relations between Estonia and Austria. The Ambassador also forwarded the thanks of Dr. Heinz Fischer, the Federal President of Austria, to President Ilves for his invitation to visit Estonia this April.
