The President of the Republic received the Letters of Credence of the Ambassador of Vietnam

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves today at Kadriorg received Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Ngoc An who presented his Letters of Credence.

In his greeting address the President of the Republic said that Vietnamese-Estonian relations have developed in a friendly manner and with respect for each other's interests both bilaterally and within the European Union and ASEM cooperation framework. ''Estonia wishes to further intensify its relationship with Vietnam. We are interested in deepening our economic relations and think that development of tourism looks very promising,'' President Ilves added.

''I believe that as you reside in Helsinki exchange of information between our two countries will improve and this will create new opportunities for our relationship,'' said the President of the Republic.

In the words of the Ambassador of Vietnam he promise himself to do his utmost to give added value to mutually beneficial Estonian-Vietnamese relations. ''Vietnam followed with admiration the remarkable achievements of Estonia in all aspects of life especially the impressive economic developments,'' Ambassador Tran Ngoc An said. The Ambassador also extended to President Ilves the invitation of the President of Vietnam to visit his country.
