President Toomas Hendrik Ilves assured the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Mikheil Janelidze, at their meeting that Estonia will continue to support Georgia in introducing and continuing important reforms for Georgia's society and integration with the European Union and NATO, and he emphasised the importance of closer IT and economic co-operation between the two countries.

The Estonian Head of State mentioned the view of the European Commission – that Georgia has met all the requirements to achieve visa freedom with the EU – as a benchmark: "This constitutes strong recognition of your reform policies and confirmation that the European Union will offer efficient and visible support to those who are genuinely committed to democracy and the creation of a society based on the rule of law."
