News in pictures: President Ilves presents high decoration of the Republic of Estonia to the creator of the WorldWideWeb in New York


The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, yesterday presented Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana, Class I, to Timothy John Berners-Lee, at the New York Consulate of the Republic of Estonia. Berners-Lee is known to the world as a computer scientist and the creator of network protocol, http or Hypertext Transfer Protocol, and the first web browser, WorldWideWeb. President Ilves decided to present him with the decoration this year, on the eve of Independence Day.
