The Head of State has confirmed the appointment of Keit Pentus-Rosimannus as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mati Raidma as the new Minister of the Environment

The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, met today in Kadriorg with the Prime Minister, Taavi Rõivas, and signed, at the proposal of the head of Government, the decision to appoint Keit Pentus-Rosimannus to the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mati Raidma to Minister of the Environment.

The Head of Government proposed to appoint the current Minister of the Environment, Keit Pentus-Rosimannus, to the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs, after the former minister, Urmas Paet, left office to work as a member of the European Parliament. Until recently, Mati Raidma had served as Chairman of the National Defence Committee of the Riigikogu.

The Head of State met today with both Keit Pentus-Rosimannus and Mati Raidma.
