President Ilves to visit Ida-Virumaa today and tomorrow
President Toomas Hendrik Ilves visited the training centre of the Estonian Defence Forces in Tapa to inspect the training of the troops of the United States of America, who are currently deployed there.

The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, will visit Ida-Virumaa today and tomorrow where he will meet with representatives of the county and local rural municipality in Jõhvi, visit the production facilities of AS Maag Piimatööstus and meet with Jõhvi opinion leaders at the county centre along with entrepreneurs and civil servants from Ida-Viru county.

Tomorrow, in Narva, the Head of State will meet the town leaders and visit the Narva studio of Eesti Rahvusringhääling (Estonian National Broadcasting). He will receive an overview of the activities of the police and border guard in the border area of the European Union at a local police station and will hand out certificates of citizenship to more than fifty young Estonian citizens at Hermann Castle.

Both in Jõhvi and Narva, President Ilves will get an overview of the preparations for the upcoming 97th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia celebrations – on 24 February 2015, in Narva, a formal flag hoisting ceremony will take place, followed by a parade of the Estonian Defence Forces on Peter's Square and an Independence Day concert and reception in Jõhvi Concert Hall.
