Today in Kadriorg President Toomas Hendrik Ilves accepted credentials from the Ambassador of Canada, Alain Hausser. The Ambassador of Canada resides in Riga.

During their meeting, President Ilves and Ambassador Hausser mostly discussed security and Russia's aggression in Ukraine. "Canada is among our most important allies in the sphere of security issues," stated the Head of State.

During the conversation, President Ilves thanked the Ambassador for Canada's financial contribution to the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence. Co-operation between Estonia and Canada has become considerably tighter over recent years and, according to the Head of State, this serves as a sign of good relations between the two countries.
