President Ilves: Estonia is devastated by the tragic accident in the very heart of Europe

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves expresses his condolences to the next of kin of passengers who died, following the crash today of a Germanwings Airbus A320 passenger airplane in the southern French Alps.

"I was shocked by the news of the tragic accident in the very heart of Europe. Estonia sends its condolences to the people of Germany and Spain, and to the families and friends of the victims," said the Estonian Head of State.

Flight 4U9525 was on its way from Barcelona, Spain, to Dusseldorf, Germany. According to initial information, all 144 passengers and six crew members died in the crash.
