Evelin Ilves, who is in Canada in connection with the state visit of President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, visited the CHEO children's hospital in Ottawa.

Specialising in mental problems in children as well as family and school issues, the hospital has also created a centre for healthy lifestyle and mental health. In only a few years, the number of teenagers who are mostly active behind the computer or in the 'virtual world' and are unable to cope with real life has increased three or four fold: their intimate relationships have weakened or dissolved, they lack social skills and are unable to communicate directly in real life without a computer or a mobile phone.

Evelin Ilves presented the CHEO hospital with a co-operation request from Tallinn Children's Hospital because it is also in the process of founding a mental health centre for teenagers.
