President Ilves meets with Swedish Foreign and Defence Ministers and attends Estonian cultural festival

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves is currently on a working visit to Stockholm.

Last night the head of state attended a dinner organised by Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt and Swedish Minister of Defence Karin Enström. In an atmosphere of trust they spoke together about the European economy and the future of the Eurozone, opportunities for cooperation between the European Union and NATO, security in the Baltic Sea region, the establishment of a free trade agreement between Europe and North America and possibilities of linking and jointly developing IT solutions between the Nordic countries and the Baltic States. President Ilves also invited Sweden to join the NATO Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, which is based in Tallinn.

Today President Ilves with Mrs. Evelin Ilves will be attending the Estonian cultural festival Estival (http://www.estival.se/) in Stockholm. This festival has been held in Sweden for the last 30 years. This year's festival is marking the 95th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.
