President Ilves to depart for a working visit to the United States of America

From tomorrow President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will be on a working visit to the United States of America. He will visit Georgetown University with Ieva Ilves and deliver a presentation to the graduates of an international school at their request. At the school, the President will speak to future foreign service officials from many different countries about the changed world and the challenges it poses for the world's democratic community.

He has been also invited to give a presentation to entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and innovators in San Francisco. At Stanford University, the Estonian Head of State will deliver a guest lecture at the invitation of Professor Michael McFaul, former US Ambassador to Russia, to discuss security policies in Europe, and he will meet with a number of acknowledged professors and research fellows.

At Pennsylvania University, President Ilves will be a keynote speaker at the international AABS conference organised by the university's Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies; there he will focus on developments in the Baltic Sea area.

The Head of State will complete his working visit to the USA on 27 May.
