The President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, gave the President of the United States, Barack Obama, a work by Peeter Laurits, "Vooluvõrgud 2 / Waterway Weaves 2", which was commissioned by the Office of the President of the Republic as a present to the President of the United States of America. Five copies will be printed of this work. The presented copy is the first in the total of five, and is marked 1/5.

President Barack Obama expressed his interest in the Estonian e-governance system several times during the day and also spoke of its importance at the meetings. He was presented with a sample of our ID card, which is one of the corner stones of our e-governance, with the name Barack Obama, as a leaving present by President Toomas Hendrik Ilves.

President Barack Obama gave President Ilves a hand-coloured original copy of the map of New Jersey from 1796. President Ilves spent a significant part of his life in New Jersey.
